- WhatsApp message fees Meta charges for messages sent outside the 24-hour service window - the reminders that go to someone who has gone quiet. Replies inside the window are free.
- Your domain name Usually a few dollars a year, if you do not have one already.
- Support after the first year Optional. Renew yearly if you want continued updates - never monthly.
Need something we did not build?
Every feature in the plan works on day one, but every business runs a little differently. Settings you can change yourself are free. Anything that needs new code is quoted first, as a fixed price - never by the hour.
A new department, another person, different reminder timings, working hours, changed wording, a new procedure document. Most of it you can do yourself in the admin, and we will help if you would rather we did.
An extra field on a job, one more column in a report, a change to what the assistant says, a small rule change.

We do not resell hosting or AI credits. You hold those accounts, you see the real bill, and you can change provider whenever you like. Marking them up would be easy and would make this page shorter; it would also mean you never knew what anything actually cost.

Periskope and WA Toolbox pricing as published on 26 September 2026; features differ, so compare what each includes rather than the headline figure. Bosun's figures assume $1,999 once plus about $25 a month for hosting and an AI key. A flat-rate workforce app such as Connecteam (from $29 a month for up to 30 users) can be cheaper than all three on price alone - it is a different trade, and we say so on the comparison page rather than leaving it out.

When Bosun is the wrong choice
A page that only lists reasons to buy is an advertisement. These are the cases where something else will serve you better, and saying so now is cheaper for both of us than finding out after you have paid.
If any of these describe you, tell us on the contact form anyway - we would rather point you somewhere useful than sell you the wrong thing.
- Your team does not use WhatsApp. The whole advantage is that nobody installs anything; without that, a normal task app is a better fit.
- You want to message your customers. Bosun faces inwards, at staff. A WhatsApp CRM is the right tool for marketing, broadcasts and a support inbox.
- You need shift scheduling, time clocks or payroll. Bosun tracks work, not hours. A workforce app does those properly.
- You want a monthly subscription you can cancel next month. This is bought once and installed on your server; that is the trade.
- Nothing about how you work is written down anywhere. The assistant can only answer from documents you have. It will show you every question it could not answer, which is a fine place to start - but it is work you will have to do.

Is there really no monthly fee?
None to us. You pay once, and the software runs on your own server for as long as you want it. What you do pay monthly goes to other companies, in your own name: hosting, your AI provider key, and WhatsApp's own fees for messages sent outside the 24-hour window. Together that is usually $20 to $40 a month.
Do you charge per user?
No. Add your whole team - six people or sixty - for the same price. The running cost rises slightly with how many messages they send, because that is the AI cost, but there is no per-seat fee.
What if I stop paying for support?
Nothing stops working. Support is optional and yearly, and it buys fixes, security and platform updates, and help. The software itself is on your server and keeps running whether you renew or not.
Why is this cheaper than building it?
Because it already exists and it has been tested. Building a WhatsApp assistant that reads free text, tracks work, chases people and answers from documents is two to three months of competent development before you find the failures - and those failures are the expensive part. Three of the defects in this product were only found by running the test suites fifteen times in a row; none failed on the first pass.
Can I see the running costs before I commit?
Yes. Every message costs about $0.002, and the dashboard shows the spend per day and per purpose from day one. In the demo we can show you the actual figures on live traffic rather than an estimate.
