The short version

This site sets almost no cookies. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no cross-site tracking on it at all - so there is nothing to consent to and no banner asking you to.

Whatever we set is listed below, by name and purpose.

What is set

  • WordPress cookies. Set only if somebody logs in to administer the site, or leaves a comment. As an ordinary visitor you will not get these.
  • Your browser's own storage. The cost calculator keeps its figures only in the page while you are on it. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent.

What is never set

  • No advertising or retargeting pixels - no Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, nothing of that kind
  • No cross-site tracking, and no data sold or shared with data brokers
  • No fingerprinting
  • No cookies at all in the software we sell - that runs on your server and is a different thing entirely

Consent banners exist because a site is setting something that needs consent - usually advertising or cross-site tracking. This site sets none of that, so there is nothing to ask you about, and a banner would be theatre.

If analytics is switched on in future, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. That date is the honest signal: if it has not moved, nothing has.

The dashboard is a different thing

Everything above is about this website. The software you would buy is separate: it runs on your own server, on your own domain. This site sets nothing there and can see nothing from it.

The Bosun dashboard does use your browser's storage, for the ordinary reasons any signed-in application does. It stays on your machine, it is never sent to us, and nobody outside your business can read it.

  • A session, so whoever is signed in stays signed in
  • Small interface preferences, such as whether the side navigation is collapsed
  • No advertising, no analytics and nothing reporting back to us - the product contains no telemetry at all
  • It is on your server and your domain, so your own policies govern it rather than ours

Turning them off

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and this site works perfectly well without any of them - nothing on it requires a cookie to read, use or submit. Blocking them here costs you nothing.
